Shelter Makes Room for Dogs Coming in From Hurricane Irma

They caught the last flight out of Florida and a local shelter is making room for them...dogs that is.

It Takes A Village in Evansville is preparing to take in five or six dogs coming in from hurricane Irma.

The dogs will arrive around late Saturday evening, but will eventually be up for adoption.

It Takes A Village volunteer Missy Mosby says, "I don't want people to worry and think we're taking people's dogs. We're not these are dogs that were actually in the shelters in Florida already and so we're trying to help them clear out their shelters so they can make room for the dogs that are going to be displaced due to the hurricane coming in."

It Takes A Village volunteers say they are working with families coming to the Tri-State from Florida who are bringing their dogs with them and need fosters.

So how you can help?

If you want to foster you can apply on It Takes A Village website
