St. Mary's Name Change Becomes Official

A new name for St. Mary's Hospital is becoming official on Thursday.

The name change to St. Vincent was announced three months ago, and since then, work has been taking place to make the change official. That includes some work on changing signage that's scheduled to continue this weekend.

On Thursday, the hospital held a prayer service and unveiled a history wall to celebrate the new name.

Interim President of St. Vincent Evansville, Dan Parod, says he's excited about the change. But for patients, he says not much will be changing.

Parod says being part of St. Vincent and Ascension is allowing for the hospital to grow.

This week, a new clinic is opening at Northside Crossing, and a new partnership was recently signed with Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Indiana.
