Standoff Ends in Domestic Violence Arrest in Madisonville

A standoff ends peacefully in Madisonville on Monday after a man wanted for a domestic dispute refused to come out of his home.

Authorities responded to Grapevine Rd. just after 2 p.m. where they discovered a woman with seriously injuries to her face. She was taken to the Baptist Health Emergency Room.

After receiving information, Madisonville Police went to the 100 block of Spence Ave. to arrest 24-year-old Curtis May. Police say May refused to come out of the home and barricaded himself inside.

After a lengthy standoff in with the SWAT team was called to the scene, officers entered the home and say may surrendered at about 6 p.m.

May faces charges of attempted murder, unlawful imprisonment, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He is currently lodge in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
