An Evansville man taken to a hospital following Sunday's standoff faces preliminary charges.
It all began around 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon near the intersection of Columbia and Fulton.
Police say Gary Cosby, 29, pointed a gun at a family member during an argument.
Officers say when they arrived, Cosby continued to show the weapon.
After an unsuccessful attempt at tasing Cosby, police say he barricaded himself inside a home. He remained inside for several hours.
A negotiation team was brought in and Cosby eventually surrendered peacefully.
Instead of being arrested, Cosby was taken to the hospital after complaining of medical issues.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office tells Eyewitness News Cosby faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and pointing a loaded firearm.
