Stop Light City Park Project Approved to Begin Work

The Stop Light City Park Project got the green light Wednesday afternoon as it is approved to start work on its first piece of equipment.

The estimated $4 million project will replace the West Side Nut Club Park.

$70,000 has already been raised for the park.

$50,000 was donated by 911 Gives Hope and it will go towards an Evansville Fire Department inspired fire truck for kids to play on.

The firetruck will be featured on the west side public library branch's lawn to raise awareness for the project.

The fire truck should be built over the course of the next six weeks.
