Structural Frame of IU Med School Complete

The Indiana University Medical School had a 30-foot ceremonial beam set at the top of the building Friday. The ceremony marked a milestone for the building which is currently under construction in downtown Evansville.

Construction crews and city leaders marked the completion of the structural frame on Friday morning.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke was in attendance.

The 140,000-square-foot facility will house medical education programs for IU, the University of Evansville, and the University of Southern Indiana.

The first classes are set to get underway in the spring of 2018.
