Warrick County Coroner Sarah Seaton identified the person killed in an early Saturday morning collision as 15-year-old Boonville resident Skylar Robinson-Williamson. She attended Boonville High School
Skylar-Robinson was the front seat passenger of a 2010 black Dodge passenger car with two other occupants, traveling in the eastbound lanes of Hwy 62. A red Ford SUV was traveling west at a high rate of speed in the eastbound lane of the highway when it struck the black Dodge head-on.
The driver of the SUV has now been identified by Warrick County Sherriff Brett Kruse as 18-year-old Osiel Marroquin of Evansville. Marroquin was detained at the scene and remains hospitalized. Charges have not been determined at this time.
The driver and backseat passenger of the Dodge were transported by EMS for emergency care. Ms. Robinson-Williamson was pronounced dead on the scene. An examination of the body has revealed blunt force abdominal trauma suffered in the collision as the cause of her death. She was wearing a proper seat belt, Seaton said.
