The founders of a new barbecue joint on Evansville's east side cut the ribbon today in front of nearly a hundred hungry people.
Mission BBQ on North Green River Road had a soft opening last week, Monday they're officially ready to go.
You find out what the mission is behind the barbecue joint as soon as you walk in the door, to serve those who serve us.
Founder Bill Kraus said they are honored to give back to servicemen and women, and first responders as well.
"The big component about Mission BBQ as well is about service," says Kraus. "The service that we can provide you as a restaurant. But also the service we can provide within the community. About giving back. About saying thanks. About being there for people when they need us. And if we can bring a little bit of comfort through food then we feel like we got the easy job."
This is the 24th location nationwide, but the first in the Midwest. It's located at 1530 North Green River Road, near Morgan Avenue.
