Tip Leads to Search in Aleah Beckerle Case

EPD Respond to Online Rumors in Aleah Beckerle Case

Evansville Police detectives respond to a wooded area on the city's south east side after receiving a tip Sunday that Aleah Beckerle's remains were possibly discovered.

Police say it was nothing more than animal bones.

EPD says detectives went to the area of south Weinbach, south of I-69, around 3 p.m. Sunday.

A crime scene unit recovered some bones that will be examined, but by all indications the remains are most likely from a deer, not human.

You might remember, police have been to this area before.

In late September 2016, detectives and crime scene techs responded to this wooded area near south Weinbach in connection with Aleah's disappearance. The remains that were discovered were animal remains.

Beckerle has been missing since mid-July.
