Vehicle jumps median on Lloyd Expwy, causes crash

UPDATE:

The Evansville Police Department says a crash along the Lloyd Expressway on Wednesday evening involved a vehicle jumping the median.

EPD says just after 5 p.m., a vehicle heading westbound on the Lloyd jumped the median into the eastbound lanes near Wabash Ave. and hit another vehicle.

Police say the vehicle that was hit rolled over. The driver of that vehicle was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. EPD says two children were also inside the vehicle but were not hurt.

The driver of the vehicle that jumped the median was not injured but taken to the hospital for alcohol testing. No report on any arrests at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The City of Evansville says the Lloyd Expressway is closed in both directions at Wabash Ave.

The road is closed due to an accident, according to Central Dispatch.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Eastbound traffic is backed up to the Barker exit.
