Traffic Restrictions Coming to Twin Bridges Starting July 5

The Tri-State is starting to see more signs of the big changes coming to the Twin Bridges.

Starting July 5, INDOT will restrict traffic on the southbound Twin Bridge for rehab and overlay.

That bridge will only be open to heavy truck traffic.

The northbound bridge will have three lanes of traffic: two northbound lanes and one southbound.

Heavy patrols will enforce a reduced speed limit of 35 mph.

Tow trucks will be stationed at each end just in case of accidents.

INDOT said Phase One could take 180 days to complete.
