Tri-Staters brave roads after storm

Overnight, Indiana State Police Evansville District responded to more than 20 slide offs.

Ice and snow are still on roads, but that's not stopping some folks from getting out.

“Today they're a lot better,” said Buehler’s IGA manager Neph Jones about road condition.

“Side roads are still a little messed up,” said shopper Mike Mulherin.

With a lot of snow, comes messy roads.

“Turn lanes are still backed up,” said Mulherin.

But Tri-Staters aren't letting that stop them from getting the essentials.

“We're picking up soft drinks, food, meat, stuff like that,” said Mulherin.

Buehler's IGA is considering themselves lucky, “Because we got our delivery in last night just in time for the big snow storm,” said Jones.

Fully stocked the morning after the storm with bread, milk, “And of course their wine and beer,” said Jones.

ISP is urging drivers to use caution if they have to travel, for good reason.

“I've never drove in this and I’m scared,” said driver Kendra Nixon.

“They're a little slick. They were worse yesterday, but they're still slick,” said driver Willard Feldeausch.

“Gets a little dangerous,” said Mulherin.

So, if you can stay home, stay home, while crews work hard to get everything clear.

In Kentucky, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports their crews cleared through four to seven inches of snow and will be restocking their salt supplies for the upcoming snow on Monday.
