Trial date set for man who shot at Owensboro police

Odis Barrett's trial is scheduled to start January 23

DAVIESS COUNTY, KY (WEHT) - A trial date has been set for a Daviess County man who allegedly shot at Owensboro police earlier this year.

Odis Barrett's trial is scheduled to start January 23.

A Daviess County judge ruled him competent to stand trial at his hearing Wednesday morning.

Barrett faces attempted murder of a police officer, wanton endangerment, and several other charges.

He's accused of shooting at police while serving a warrant on him back in January.

A four hour standoff at an Owensboro home followed, ending with his surrender.
