Tristate Sees More Water Theft

The same-day business complex in Evansville reports a massive water theft with a similar looking van caught stealing water in Poseyville.

Poseyville officials say they caught a business stealing thousands of gallons of water from a fire hydrant in a local neighborhood.

They caught the Lubovich Excavating van filling their water tank truck with thousands of gallons of water in broad daylight mid-morning Tuesday.

Lubovich Excavating is a division of Lubovich Farms, located over two hours away from Poseyville in Clinton, IN.

Officials say they think the Evansville theft could be related to this one—and the theft caused more problems than just losing money and water.

President of Poseyville Town Council Bruce Baker says the employee's supervisor was contacted, and Lubovich Excavating will be billed for the amount of water stolen along with city workers overtime for flushing the water mains.

They will also be given a formal notice of their violation.
