Two Evansville Men Arrested for Posey Co. Burglary

Two Evansville men are arrested for a burglary in Posey County, while authorities continue to search for a third suspect.

Indiana State Police launched a criminal investigation after a Poseyville homeowner said his barn was burglarized in the 9000 block of Cleveland Rd. The alleged burglary happened sometime in the early morning hours of December 6. The homeowner reported a Suzuki four-wheeler, a Yamaha 70cc dirt bike, a 12 foot cargo trailer, and several other items has been stolen.

On December 7, the Posey County Sheriff's Department told Indiana State Police that Evansville Police had located the items at a residence in the 1200 block of W. Maryland St. in Evansville. Troopers arrived and found four brand new sump pumps, one Ryobi backpack leaf blower, an Echo chainsaw, three antique ceramic vessels, a pair of western boots, a vacuum cleaner, and a 2012 Sure-Tarc cargo trailer. The Suzuki four-wheeler and the Yamaha 70cc dirt bike were not recovered are still missing.

ISP says further investigation revealed 43-year-old Steven Collins of Evansville allegedly drove to the Poseyville property with 42-year-old Christopher Vallee of Evansville and another male. They allegedly backed the truck into the barn and hooked onto the trailer. After allegedly taking several items in the barn, they drove away with the trailer.

The Posey County Prosecutor's Office issued felony warrants for burglary and theft for Collins, Vallee, and the third suspect. Troopers arrested Collins without incident at his Evansville home on December 16. He was taken to the Posey County Jail where he is currently being held on bond. Vallee was located and arrested on Monday at a residence in the 900 block of W. Maryland St. in Evansville. He was also taken to the Posey County Jail, where he is currently being held on bond. Troopers are still searching for the third suspect.
