Uber Launching Wednesday in Evansville

On Wednesday, Uber is launching its ridesharing service in Evansville. This will make Evansville the 8th city in Indiana to welcome the popular ridesharing product, Uber.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will be taking the first Uber ride in the city immediately following a press conference Wednesday morning.

The press conference will feature Uber General Manager of Illinois and Indiana Marco McCottry. He will make the announcement of Uber's launch alongside Mayor Winnecke, Vanderburgh County Commissioner Cheryl Musgrave, the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville, and an Evansville driver-partner.

That's scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at Innovation Pointe in the 300 block of Main St.
