UE Renames Residence Hall after Couple

Wednesday was the first day of classes for students at the University of Evansville, and they celebrated by dedicating one of the campus' residence halls.

UE has renamed its North Hall building as Jones Hall. It's to honor Paul and Pat Jones, who are two UE alumni and donors to the university.

Jones Hall is located at Weinbach Ave. and Walnut Ave., where Paul Jones says he met his future wife.

"When I told her when this all came up, we're going to have a building with our name on it," said Paul Jones, "she was blown away by it as was I. So, and the fact that where it is makes it even more special."

"Paul and Pat Jones have been magnificant in their support for all sorts of things," said UE President Dr. Thomas Kazee,
"the engineering program, building renovations, scholarships. And so, this is a way for us say thank you."

Wednesday's dedication was followed by a carnival and picnic to help kickoff the new school year.
