Vanderbugh County Man Arrested on Child Molestation Charges

A Perry Township man is facing multiple counts of felony child molestation charges.

According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, 56-year-old Mark Allan Farmer was arrested on Thursday when he admitted to the crimes.

Deputies began investigating on Tuesday when a five-year-old victim reported the acts to their mother.

During an interview at Holly's House, the child detailed at least four instances of sexual abuse at the hands of Farmer.

Farmer was questioned by detectives on Thursday at the Sheriff's Office Command Post. During the interview, detectives said Farmer admitted to four instances where he abused the victim.

Farmer was scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday morning on the charges.

During that hearing, his bond was set at $5,000 or a $50,000 according to court records.

His next court appearance has been scheduled for February 16, 2017.
