Vectren commits $50,000 to Puerto Rico relief

Vectren has committed $50,000 in financial aid to assist in the rehabilitation efforts continuing in hurricane-devastated Puerto Rico.

The funding will be provided to the American Red Cross through the Southwest Indiana chapter and designated for disaster relief.

The Vectren Foundation has contributed more than $200,000 during hurricane season over the last few months.

“With more than 50% of the island still without power, relief efforts will go on for quite some time,” Vectren Chairman, President and CEO Carl Chapman said. “As Puerto Rico continues to recover from Hurricane Maria’s destruction, the need for corporate citizens and individuals to assist will continue – and we’re proud to stand with those affected. We will continue to keep them in our hearts and on our minds.”

The Vectren Foundation pledged gifts as well as matched employee donations for both Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
