Veterans Day Parade Now a Non-Profit

A big announcement happening Thursday regarding the Evansville Four Freedoms Veterans Day Parade as the event has now become a non-profit organization.

At a press conference Thursday morning, parade co-chairman Garry Hisel said community support is needed so veterans can be thanked for their service without having to pay to be in the parade.

For eight years, the parade has honored veterans as a way to thank them for their service.

However, with the parade getting larger each year, so are the costs.

Another new fundraiser is called “Convoy for Cash,” which is a convoy of antique military vehicles that will come to your home to accept your donation and let you take pictures with the big machines.

The parade is scheduled to be on West Franklin Street November 11 at 3 p.m.
