Vincennes Golf Course Staying Alive with New Ownership

A group in Vincennes heard exciting news on Friday about the Country Club of Old Vincennes.

The golf course had the first nine holes built in 1921 and it sits on Washington Ave. in Vincennes.

It's only had three owners, but now two partners in a private transaction have come together to keep the course alive.

Mayor Joe Yochum addressed a crowd of golfers Friday.

Yochum said it's not just about the fairways and greens, but also about the quality of life that Vincennes can offer.

That's why, he said, they're working to keep this course open.

The switch in ownership will take place swiftly by the end of next week.
