Webster Co. Couple Charged after Truck Crashes into Train

Two Webster County people face charges after a truck crashed into a train on Monday.

Webster County Sheriff's deputies charged 35-year-old Thomas Cates of Slaughters and 22-year-old Katie Carter of Sebree with wanton endangerment.

Investigators say the two along with two toddlers were in a truck when it hit a train on Breton Rd. between Sebree and Slaughters.

The charges stem from the toddlers not being buckled in at the time of the wreck.

The children were taken to an Evansville hospital. No word on their conditions.
