Woman Accused of Murdering Boyfriend Appears in Court

An Evansville woman accused of murdering her boyfriend late last year appeared in court Tuesday afternoon. The judge scheduled a progress hearing Wednesday.

Chauna Reed is accused in the shooting death of Stedman Baird last October.

Police believe the shooting may have been the result of an argument over domestic issues.

Reed told detectives Baird went to sleep on the couch and said the next thing she remembered was seeing a flash and hearing a gunshot.

At the time of her arrest, Reed reportedly told investigators she didn't remember shooting Baird.

Reed is set to stand trial March 20.
