The investigation resulted in the suspension of 11 students and one student was expelled.
"They want to move forward" said Athletic Director Steve Kilian "what's in the past is in the past and we will just go from there."
Friday night marked a new beginning for the team with new head coach Bret Kramer.
"I think it has been a huge disadvantage" said Kramer "because the experience that our players did not gain last year. Even our seniors have sophomore experience, so we are basically playing sophomores and freshman tonight."
However, despite the set back the team continues to have positive attitude.
