The company says nearly three million credit cards could have been compromised sometime between May of last year and this past January.
Officials are confident they have contained any threat.
Michaels says its has gotten a 'limited number' of reports of cards being used fraudulently.
Customers are being offered fraud assistance, identity protection and crediting monitoring services.
