AT&T representatives say technology is changing to accommodate the rules of the road.

The company is going beyond simply putting labels on its packaging, warning about the dangers of texting and driving.  It's building on its hands-free voice activated calling and texting system, allowing a driver to listen and respond to text messages without taking his or her eyes off the road.

There is also s a new app called "Textecution" which deactivates text messaging abilities while the phone is in motion.
The National Safety Council says texting while driving kills an estimated six-thousand people each year.
