City and county employees in Evansville and Vanderburgh County now have their very own health clinic.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and several other leaders cut the ribbon on the Novia Clinic at the Civic Center this morning.

Officials say this new facility will cut the cost for the city and county and also for some 1,500 employees and nearly 2,000 dependents.

"We know that it helps the families," said Gary Raikes of Nocia Care Clinics, "because not only they get healthier, but because they have a place to go for medicine today when many cases they don't have a primary care doctor."

Novia has care clinics in 17 states throughout the country. They expect to have nine operating in the Tri-State by April 1.
