21 Year-Old Killed in Head-On Morning Car Crash

Tri-state woman dies in head-on crash Monday morning.
Kentucky State Police were called to a crash scene on Highway 36 in Trimble County around 8:00am.
Troopers say 21 year-old Jennifer Lundergan of Huntingburg, was driving a mini-van toward Milton and attempted to pass another vehicle. Lundergan crashed head-on into an oncoming vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the car she struck was driven by by 41 year-old  Miachel Hancock-Eccles of Madison, IN.  Hancock-Eccles was life-flighted to the University of Louisville Hospital for serious injuries. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.  Both Lundergan and Hancock-Eccles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Troopers say the foggy conditions could have contributed to the cause. The crash is under investigation at this time.
