Court Date Set for Indiana Same-Sex Marriage Hearing

With hundreds of recently married couples waiting in limbo, a hearing date is set to argue the constitutionality of Indiana's gay marriage ban.

The state's appeal of a federal court decision allowing same-sex couples to wed will go before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on August 26, in Chicago. Indiana's ban on gay marriage was struck down in late June.

The case will be heard by a three-judge panel after the court denied a request from Attorney General Greg Zoeller to have all 10 justices. The court will also include Wisconsin's appeal after the state's same-sex marriage ban was also overturned.
