Daviess County Animal Shelter officials say they're running out of room for stray dogs.

Shelter Director Ashley Clark says they may have to start euthanizing dogs to make room for more stray animals.

The shelter's seen a drop in the number of adoptions this month, and more animals brought in than usual.

Officials add other shelters in Kentucky are reporting the same problem and some animal rescues don't have room to take them in.

"It is more of a stressful situation for not only the people, but for the animals," said Clark. "The animals are okay, but we don't have room for the animals coming in. Therefore, we have to make some choices to open up some kennels."

Officials say they are looking for foster homes to take the dogs in. Nearly 80 dogs can be housed in the kennels at a time.
