Art George and his family decided to take over the event that was first created by Evansville twins: Kaitlin and Emilie Thompson.
The George family wants to help benefit the rehab center where their son has been getting treatment.
"Once you get the word out, Facebook, Twitter, friends, family," said George. "The word spreads extremely fast. Yeah, they come. A big addition to the barbeque last year is bringing people back because it's really good. But yeah, social media helps out a lot. We got great family, great friends. It's a great community to do this stuff in."
And today's grand total, just over $5,800. All of that money will go to help pay for therapy. That brings the total raised over the last 19 years to more than $54,000.
