Indiana Governor, Mike Pence made a stop in the tri-state to help some elementary students get in step for a healthy life.
"Walk a mile with Mike" is part of the governor's statewide initiative to promote healthy living.
The Governor joined students at Oak Hill Elementary and walked 15 laps around the gym.
He says he wants to encourage students to make fitness a part of their life.
The Governor said,  “It's not about going to the gym, lacing them up and going and doing 5 miles. Getting out everyday, taking a 20-minute walk will make an incredible difference in your personal well-being, your attitude, and productivity. “
Governor  Pence also hosted a town hall meeting at Central Library.
The Governor will join State Auditor Suzanne Crouch and State Representative Holli Sullivan for the opening of a new GOP office for the 8th district.
