Before the Red, White, and Blue Picnic, Alison Lundergan Grimes talked with Eyewitness News about allegations regarding her campaign bus.

The Republican Party of Kentucky filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, suggesting she and a company her father owns violated a law, when the company bought a tour bus and rented it to Grimes campaign.

The GOP says Grimes' is renting it well below market rates, calling it a prohibited corporate gift.

"It is just baseless bullying accusations from the McConnell campaign," said Grimes. "An attempt to distract and deter voters from  the serious questions they've asked about Senator McConnell, his family actually profiting off the loss of good Kentucky coal jobs."

The Kentucky Democratic Party has fired back at Senator Mitch McConnell, accusing him of soliciting donations in the capitol building by treating Delta CEO Rick Anderson to breakfast in the Senate dining room. Anderson gave McConnell a big donation about a week later. McConnell's campaign has called the accusation a frivolous complaint.
