When he was 21-years-old, Allen Sanderson flew 118 missions aboard the P-47 World War II Fighter. Two of those missions over the beaches of Normandy behind enemy lines during the D-Day invasion. That was 70 years ago.

This weekend Brad Byrd was honored to narrate the reenactment of D-Day along the Evansville riverfront during Shrinersfest. Before he took the public and chatted, Mr. Sanderson talked to Brad about how a young man's life was changed forever when he jumped into the cockpit of the P-47.
