A contract is now in place to get 36 miles of it up to interstate standards. That stretch runs through Hopkins, Webster, and Henderson Counties.

Crews will widen overpass bridges, do pavement work, reconstruct ramps, among other improvements. Work is scheduled to be done in August of 2015.
