It's a service that comes with full honors, talent, and professionalism. But all hope they never have to attend.

The Evansville Fraternal Order of Police held a mock line of duty death today at St. Benedict's Cathedral in Evansville.

This past week, police, deputies, firefighters and many more were trained how to conduct a line of duty service for a fallen brother or sister. Training included proper marching, carrying and folding flags, and gun salutes.

"June 14, was 100 years since we lost an officer here in Evansville in the line of duty," said Sgt. Darren Sroufe. "We've had active officers die while serving, but not someone killed in the line of duty. We hope to never do that. However, it is something we have to be prepared for."

A graduation ceremony was held this afternoon for all those who trained.
