Deputies say 25-year-old James L. Mays was arrested Sunday on a parole violation and failure to appear in court.
While being booked into the Henderson County Detention Center, deputies say a small bag containing meth fell onto the floor behind him. Deputies say Mays tried to cover the bag with his foot, but it was too late.
Mays is now charged with possession of a controlled substance on top of the other two charges that were brought against him .
