Signs of support are surfacing for a failed drug testing policy. The conversation continues days after the Evansville City Council says no to random drug testing for elected officials. The city council voted down a resolution 7-2 on Monday.

Now today, a man stood on the corner of Green River Rd. and Covert Ave. with a sign asking what city leaders including Mayor Lloyd Winnecke are afraid of.

For his part, the mayor released a statement today:

"Since the vote by City Council on Monday night, the Mayor’s Office has received an influx of questions related to the subject of drug testing for elected officials. While the Mayor is currently traveling abroad, he has expressed support for creation of a policy and would gladly participate in the same manner as all other city employees are currently required. As the discussion continues, the Administration is willing to work with Council regarding this issue."
