A Gibson County man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend's father decided to go to trial. Authorities say he was offered a plea deal of 65 years and he turned it down. His trial will begin August 12th.
Austin Blaize is accused in the January 2013 death of Terry Monier in Fort Branch.
Investigators say Blaize entered a home there, fatally shot Monier, and tried to kill his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend.
The Gibson County Prosecutor has said he will seek life in prison without parole if Blaize is convicted at trial.
