Names Released in Diamond Ave Fatal Crash

UPDATE: The Sheriff's Office says a 2 car crash killed 87 year-old Ola Cole from Evansville, around 9:15pm.
Deputies say Cole's car was crossing Diamond from northbound St. Joe, when it was hit by 21 year-old Seth Finke which was going east on Diamond.
Finke was taken to St. Mary's for his injuries and he's expected to survive. Cole died on scene.
We're told both drivers were wearing their seat-belts, and alcohol and drugs are not factors.
The crash is still under investigation.
Diamond and St. Joe were closed for about 2 hours.

UPDATE: As of midnight Tuesday morning, all lanes of Diamond Avenue have reopened.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office reports one person has died in a two vehicle accident on Diamond Ave./University Parkway and N. St. Joseph's Rd.

Deputies say a car was going north on University Parkway, when it was turning onto Diamond Ave. and was hit on the driver's side by a pickup truck. The car ended up in a ditch on Diamond Ave.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office pronounced the driver of car dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with unknown conditions.

Both lanes of Diamond Ave. are closed at this time. The sheriff's office is still investigating the cause of the accident.

A coroner has been called to an accident at Diamond Ave./University Parkway and N. St. Joseph's Rd. in Vanderburgh County.

We're told two vehicles were involved in the accident. Diamond Ave. is currently shut down to traffic. German Township Fire Department is on scene.
