Award winning songwriters from Nashville flood downtown Henderson this week.

It's the 5th Annual Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters Festival. More than 30 country music songwriters are in town to share their stories and perform their music. Some of these songwriters have worked with big names like Kenny Chesney and Charlie Daniels.

While they get to show off their craft, these artists also help inspire Tri-Staters to follow their dreams.

"Through group and private lessons and events like this, we really raise art awareness," said Riverbend Academy Project Manager Andrew J. Casey. "And it inspires me, and hopefully it will inspire some other youth and some other people in the community to really follow their ambitions and passions."

The Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters Festival runs Wednesday through Saturday from 6:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at all the downtown locations.
