No Charges Against Former Vanderburgh Co. Sheriff Deputy

Eyewitness News learns criminal charges will not be filed against a former Vanderburgh County Sheriff's deputy.

As we first reported, Sgt. Darren Baumberger resigned in June after Sheriff Dave Wedding recommended he be fired. This came after a three month internal investigation into a stalking complaint filed against Baumberger.

During the course of that investigation, authorities came across information that suggested criminal charges might be warranted. However, the prosecutor's office says the criminal investigation lacked hard evidence or a complaining witness.
