Crews have been working on Zion Rd. to seal some of the underground pipes that have been leaking in that area but will soon shift the times when they'll actually be doing the work.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet understands that road repair can cause traffic to back up. So, they already have a plan in place to keep traffic flowing around the schools.
"They were hoping to be done around the first of August," said Keith Todd. "It's going to take them about an extra month or so to get it done. A lot of the on road work is completed, and the only time they are allowed to work is outside of school hours. I think they can work from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m."
Of course, a reminder to slow down when you're going through construction zones and or school zones and stay off the phone.
