Plans are in the works to renovate the Old Post Office in downtown Evansville. Eyewitness News is told the Social Security Administration will likely be moving into the building, but only after some upgrades are made to the inside.

The interim director of the Department of Metropolitan Development says construction could cost just under $1 million.

The Old Post Office manager has applied for half of the money through a bank loan and the rest through a loan from the redevelopment commission.

Officials say they're now looking over that loan proposal but have not made a definite decision.
