Summer vacation is about to come to an end for thousands of students all over the Tri-State. For some families, trying to gather all the items on that back to school list can be a challenge.

To make sure students in Evansville have what they need, organizers with this year's Unity Fest are collecting all the basic supplies.

Thanks to local businesses like Walgreens that sponsor them, Unity Fest serves more than a thousand less-fortunate families each year.

"That is the biggest thing," said Lois Duncan of Evansville Minister's Wives Coalition. "That makes me feel wonderful whenever we can help anybody in the community. Not just the students, but anybody in the community that needs it. The Evansville Ministers Wives Council, we're there."

The first day of class for the EVSC is August 11.

Unity Fest is one week from today at the C.K. Newsome Center.  Supplies will be given out from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening but only on a first come, first serve basis.
