President Obama made another pitch Tuesday for congress to approve funding for the highway trust fund.
The Department of Transportation warns that without help from lawmakers the fund could be running on empty in just a few weeks.
Obama says it seems like a simple request.
The President claimed Congress wasn't doing anything else and asked “why don't they do this?”
The highway trust fund is due to expire at the end of the summer.
Obama says if the highway trust fund runs out of money, up to 700,000 jobs could be lost.
