Overnight Accident Knocks Out Power in Hawesville

An early morning accident in Hawesville, Kentucky sends one to the hospital and knocks out power for hundreds. It happened just before 2 a.m. on Highway 60.

A car struck a utility pole then ended up in a storage building. Hawesville Police Chief Wagner Baskett says the driver was flown to a Louisville hospital and is in critical condition.

Nearly 400 customers lost power and phone service for hours because of the accident.
