If you're headed to Helfrich Golf Course, don't count on getting an alcoholic drink to cool down. Parks Director, Denise Johnson, says a golf pro - along with the help of excise police - discovered the liquor license at the course had expired in early July, and they had not been given an extension.
Because of that, they are no longer serving alcohol day-to-day except during special events. Johnson says it could take 60 to 120 days to get a new liquor license.
"We're trying to do everything we can to speed that process up - all within legal means - to do that because it is an important part of the revenue at Helfrich Golf Course."

Johnson says the parks department will be in charge of the new license moving forward - to make sure the oversight does not occur again.
The expired license was only for Helfrich. No other courses are affected.
