A new type of restaurant, one on four wheels, is officially coming to Owensboro. City commissioners passed an ordinance allowing food trucks to operate in the city.

The trucks will be allowed to operate more than 100 feet away from any existing restaurant. Earlier this month, some restaurant owners argued that distance was still too close.

Food trucks are already allowed to operate in Louisville and St. Louis.
