Owensboro road crews are planning their attack on potholes across the city. It's part of their annual "Spring War on Potholes."

Starting today, residents can call the city's action line to report all potholes. Crews will start filling those spots starting next Monday.

Department of Public Works officials say they expect to fill more this year because of the severe winter weather.

"We've seen a prevalence of potholes increase a great deal with the freezing and thawing cycles that we've had this Winter," said Lelan Hanock. "You're going to see some unusual places and some things that occur that you typically don't see because we don't have as many occurrences of freeze and thaw cycles."

Officials say they've filled more than 2,000 potholes across the city since last Summer.
